2012 ANZAC Day dawn service

The 2012 ANZAC Day dawn service will take place on Wednesday 25th April at 0630 at the Korea War Memorial. This year will again be honoured by the participation of a large number of Commonwealth veterans of the Korean War, including Australians and New Zealanders. The service will be followed by a gunfire breakfast at the same venue. Members of the Australian and New Zealand community are invited to join the service and there are some limited places available at the breakfast. Due to catering restrictions, those members of the public requesting to attend the breakfast need to provide their name and contact number by email to the Australian Assistant Defence Attache Lieutenant Commander Chris Smith at chris.smith@dfat.gov.au or the New Zealand Defence Attache office at nzdaoffice@gmail.com. You wil be advised by return email if you have secured a place at breakfast. Although the dawn service will be open to members of the public, only those who receive a confirmation email will be able to attend the breakfast.

Australia: In harmony with the ocean

From 12 May to 12 August 2012, the Australian Pavilion will showcase how the importance of Australia's coast has culminated in a gateway for considerable national wealth through resources, tourism and education sectors.

Australia has chosen 'In Harmony with the Ocean' as the over-arching theme of its pavilion at International Expo 2012 in Yeosu, the Republic of Korea. It has been developed based on Australia's credentials as a nation with high environmental, scientific and technical capabilities in marine conservation, and its commitment to sustainable development of our vast natural assets. The emphasis will be the importance of conserving marine and coastal ecology including our marine flora and fauna and wildlife for posterity and research.

Australia's National Day at the 2012 Yeosu Expo will be on 27 May to celebrate the highly values long-lasting bilateral relationship between Australia and Korea. It will feature special performances from some of Australia's most popular artists and will demonstrate the wide range of cultural influences.
